Henrique, Terry lead Ducks to 8-2 rout of Canadiens

Adam Henrique scored twice, rookie Troy Terry had a goal and two assists, and the Anaheim Ducks championship rings interrupted Carey Price's pursuit of the Canadiens' career wins record with an 8-2 victory over Montreal on Friday night.

Corey Perry and Devin Shore had a goal and an assist apiece during the Ducks' highest-scoring performance of their miserable season. Daniel Sprong and Rickard Rakell also scored and John Gibson made 35 saves for the
, who have won three of four for only the second time since mid-December.

Rookie Max Jones even scored his first nhl championship rings goal with 10.4 seconds to play.

Shea Weber had a power-play goal and an assist for the Canadiens, who have lost five of eight. Paul Byron also scored and Price stopped 21 shots as Montreal completed a three-game California road swing with two losses while giving up a whopping 14 goals.

After getting a rare night off Thursday in San Jose, Price was in position to become the Canadiens' career victories leader after tying Jacques Plante's record with his 314th win Tuesday in Los Angeles. Instead, Price gave up eight goals in a game for the first time this season behind his befuddled defense.

At least now the 31-year-old former NHL MVP will get a chance to make Canadiens history in front of his Montreal fans on Tuesday against the Red Wings.

This blowout loss undermines the Montreal Canadiens championship rings for sale playoff push, however. Montreal and Carolina are in the two wild-card spots with 79 points apiece -- but the Hurricanes and the ninth-place Columbus Blue Jackets, who have 77 points, both have two games in hand on the Habs.

After Sprong and Henrique scored early, Shore got a power-play goal early in the second period. Weber trimmed the lead to 3-2 with the Canadiens' first power-play goal in seven games since Feb. 23, but Terry and Perry scored later in the second.

Terry, a shifty 21-year-old forward, has six points in the last two games after scoring four points in his first 22 career games custom championship rings.

Cam Fowler became the Ducks' career scoring leader among defensemen in the second period, getting his 265th career point when Terry redirected his shot for a goal. Fowler has spent his entire nine-season NHL career in Anaheim, cracking the roster as an 18-year-old in 2010 and immediately becoming a dependable part of the Ducks' core.

In his 17th NHL game, Jones got his first goal in the waning seconds.

Ducks C Ryan Kesler was a late scratch with a hip injury. He missed much of last season while recovering from hip surgery, and has scored just eight points while playing in 60 games this season, including the 1,000th of his NHL career Tuesday at Arizona.
